I have been through much stress for two weeks following my vacation. Sheesh!
Would you believe it? The fan on my IBM R40 crashed down. My IBM has been running strong for over 3 years & I thought she would last forever, but I was wrong. I had to give her up for a a week while the laptop doc repaired the problem.
I really needed another unit to use at home, so I purchased a new CPU at MIR Computer Networkx - the dang thing crashed after a few hours use! So, I had to take it back for a full refund.
Then came the hunt for a more reputable CPU vendor, which took a few days.
Finally though, I landed an excellent deal at PC Gilmore.
Now, I am enjoying my new Intel Dual Core 2.2 Ghz CPU (MSI 7300 motherboard, Kingston 1GB DDR2 Memory, Samsung 80GB Hard Drive, ASUS Sata DVD-RW Optical Drive) for less than $250 .
My laptop’s still with the repairman to this day but now, I can wait . My new CPU has allowed me to allow him all the time he needs… I’m glad that’s over .
Wow wow wow i’ve never been to Gilmore. I heard that there are tons of cheap techie stuff there. Sorry about your CPU crashing but at least you were able to to replace it right away, heehee
Computers being down sure does suck, I know the feeling! Working at a place that gives tec support though, I know that your computer technician will be very happy to not have you looking over his shoulder for a fix!
That suddenly reminds me … the RAM on my hard drive (of my home computer) is only 512MB and I NEED to upgrade it because it’s crawling slower than a turtle now. Haha.
Treat yer new CPU with loads of tender loving, care!
I’m sorry about your [formerly] trusty old IBM. It happens sometimes to all of us, especially to heavy computer users (like myself ). I’m glad that at least you’ve got a new one now. Hope the lappie gets fixed soon.
Oh my, you’ve certainly had some difficult experiences with computer towers recently. I doubt I would have been as patient as you and probably would have just given up on finding a decent tower. I will admit that I’d probably think that for about five seconds before deciding that was ridiculous and I had to have a computer, come Hell or high water. *lol*
Wow, that’s a great deal for a comp. with all those specs! I can’t find anything cheaper than $400 with the same specs.
